Set in the beautiful surroundings of Upper Eskdale, one of the most tranquil valleys
in the Lake District, this cosy holiday cottage provides ideal self catering accommodation
for couples and walkers.
On a working farm, with 800 Herdwick sheep, there are hundreds of walks right from its front door. Pets are welcome and riders who would like to bring their horse to explore the countryside can house their horse on the farm itself. Walkers can choose between gentle strolls along the River Esk, more challenging climbs up Scafell (the highest mountain in England) and Harter Fell, or hikes over to Wasdale, which houses Wastwater, England’s deepest lake

Dramatic fells form the backdrop to our Lakeland sheep farm. Four
cottages have been converted from traditional stone barns and offer spacious accommodation
with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The surround fields are home to our Herdwick and
Cheviot sheep, Angora goats, ducks and hens.
You will be welcome to help feed the animals and to see the farm at work. A private farm trail is provided to help you to explore the beautiful setting with its woodlands, streams, abundant wildlife and spectacular views.
All four cottages are furnished and equipped to a high standard and have full central heating. Each bathroom ahs a bath with shower unit, WC and basin. All visitors have access to a one acre paddock with sitting out area and barbeque, and to our private farm trail. There are shared laundry facilities and payphone. Private water supply. Ample car parking is available. Sorry, but we do not accept pets.

Footpaths lead from the farm up Scafell and Great Gable, or you can walk over the fells to the Eskdale valley. You are very welcome to bring dogs. Wasdale itself is a valley of extremes. It boasts England's deepest lake (Wastwater), highest mountain (Scafell), smallest church (St Olaf's) and the world’s biggest liar competition (each November, in the Santon Bridge Inn).
